Tuesday Is My Friday!

Get your motors runnin'... It was a sunny 68 degrees today. Perfect weather for a ride on the scooter. Here's my scootin' ensemble...

Corduroy jacket - Gap
Helmet - borrowed Will's
Bitten sunglass - Steve & Barry's
Black pants - Express
Booties - Payless
Aprilia Scarbeo 200 - Will's scooter

Wanna know what was under the jacket???

Here I am, up close and personal...

Purple top - Old Navy
3 strand necklace - Gifted by V
Wide belt - Dots

So today was my Friday! Will and I have the rest of the week off. Yay! His 2 brothers and sister-in-law are coming to town and staying with us through the holiday weekend. We have been working on the guest bedroom and bathroom like mad these past few days, but I think everything finally looks decent. They be in town just in time for dinner so I will be slow cooking a brisket for about 6-8 hours. Man I am going to have to do some serious jump roping, running, jumping jack exercise to get me through the next few days of good food.

I still plan too post pics the next few days, but in case things get crazy, I wanted to thank everyone who has read, commented, stopped by, or enjoyed my little blog. I also want to thank to the blogs I read, the ones that inspire me , and the ones that entertain me throughout my day. Happy Early Thanksgiving Everyone!

I <3 Shoe Sale Mondays!

So since I didn't care for my daily outfit pic, I thought I'd post my shoe purchase from Target.com instead. I scored 3 pairs of shoes for $28.97! The red and grey pair were only $8.24 each! I already had the black patent jasmine mary jane pumps and love them so much. And for that low, low price, I needed them in red. I love a good deal!

So is anyone planning to do the big Black Friday shopping? I've never done it before. This year I am in the market for a new laptop, but I haven't really seen any major good deals that would get me out of bed at 4 in the morning. I hear I might have to wait till Thursday for the full release of all the sales. So have you done the whole camp out-get outta my way-day after Thanksgiving sale? Any tips for a newbie? Do you think this year is lacking compared to previous years?

A Bootie-ful Thursday!

Will got a little creative with the camera this morning, hence the diagonal shot. Here is another pic in the great outdoors. Which I have to admit, I really like how this pic turned out. The colors look vibrant and my necklace really stands out. More outside shots to come. Maybe I can try to change the scenery here and there. So here are my bootie-ful deatils...

Purple top - Target
Grey skirt - Old Navy
Crazy pattern hose/tights - Target
Tate Oxford Booties - Payless
Green beaded necklace - gifted from Lynette

So if you read V's blog, you'll see that we've been watching the bootie prices. She has loved then from the beginning. As for me, it took a little time, but about 3 weeks ago I jumped on the bootie/shootie bandwagon. Of course they had these super cute pair at Payless, but for $30, I just wasn't ready to spend that much on a trendy shoe. This past Monday, Will and I were on the hunt for the closest Payless to our condo. I had a coupon (courtesy of Kimberly's coupon blog) and I was at least going to get 15% off. It was 8:00 pm, the last day for the coupon, and we never found it. I figured it wasn't meant to be. Then yesterday, something told me I should check their site in case they marked it down. Low and behold, it was on sale for $19.99, which is a better price than if I had used the coupon. I was thrilled. I called V and let her know. So last night after my workout, I made a mad dash to the Payless closest to the gym. Of course the only size they had was a 5 1/2. I asked the sales girl and she printed the locations that had those shoes in my size and at the bottom of the printout was a coupon for and extra $3.00 off my total. Of course I raced over and bought my booties for the bargain price of $16.99. Score!

Polished for Potluck Wednesday

I look sleepy in this pic. Here I am off to work. We stopped outside and took a quick pic. Here are the details...

Swiss dotted white button-up - Gap
Mossimo short sleeve jacket - Target
Skinny Belt - Macy's
Pencil skirt - Anthropologie
Lined tights - Kroger's
Maripe peeps - Rack Room
Fab necklace - gifted from KT!

So I read these tips from Jessica on taking your daily outfit pic and thought I'd try the outside thing. Of course with Will taking the pic, I can only get 2 or 3 out of him to choose from. Not sure if the morning light agrees with me, but I'll probably play around with it in the next few days.

Today we had a Thanksgiving potluck at work today. I made my famous peanut butter mousse pie. It's definitely not healthy, but it sure is fab! If you care for the recipe, let me know. I'll either shoot it to you via e-mail or I'll post it up.

So while making 2 pies (for my office and one for Will's), I was a little obsessed with tv last night. First I watch The Biggest Loser. Why am I always in tears when I watch this show? Next up was The Housewives of Atlanta. Is anyone watching that show??? All I can say is OMG!!! I somewhat watched the other Housewives, but this Atlanta season have been captivating, crazy, and hilarious. I soooo can't wait till the reunion show next week!

Walking Through Tuesday

This so not my best angle, but I was in a rush so this was the best pic of the loot. I totally match my Gigi poster though :-) Maybe next time I wear this outfit, I'll wink like her. Here are my red and black details...

Adille sweater - Anthropologie
Pleated red skirt - Ann Taylor Loft
Textured tights - Target
peep-toe pumps - Rack Room
Scarf - Banana Republic

We decided to walk to work this morning. We live pretty close so it's a 15 minute walk from door to cubicle. It was a little chilly, but not freezing, so I decided on a scarf and no jacket. The scarf was just enough and this afternoon on my walk home, I threw it in my purse since it was back to 65 degrees.

When we came for for lunch today, I checked the mail and had a nice surprise waiting for me. The Sassy KT sent me a sweet wedding gift. The gift went along the lines of something old (she claims it's her), something, new (necklace), something borrowed (recipe for frosted pumpkin walnut cookies), and something blue (Zoya polish in Indigo). So clever KT :-) Love it! Here's the pic...

Brrrr...It's Monday!

It is finally cold here. Even though it'll hot in my office (because they love to blast the heater), I decided it was time to bust out my sweaters. Here are the details...

Mossimo sweater - Target
Black pants - Express
Isaac Mizrahi heels - Target
2 strands of pearls - gifted
broach - gifted

This past weekend was super busy, but great. I started out my weekend with a lovely package from Ally at Cute And The Cheap. She sent me some fun goodies for winning this month's blogger challenge. I love the color scheme of the gift. I can't wait to wear the necklace. Thanks Ally for the fun prize and your kind words. I look forward to future challenges.

Our garage sale was a huge hit. We did so well that we are doing it again this weekend. We cleared out a lot of stuff, but a few friends have more things to bring over so we have round 2 this coming Saturday.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend and have a marvelous Monday!

Sunday's Great Sk8!

Well this isn't the best photo, but it was dark and my battery was dying so here is my blurry skate outfit. Here are my details....

HWR Sweater - Anthropologie
Bitten Boyfriend Jeans - Steve & Barry
Skates - rented

So no 80's outfit for me. I was going to do it, but we had a blast of cold weather this weekend. I was scrammbling to find my long sleeves. Plus we were running to church afterwards and even though it's casual there, 80's outfit probably isn't the best to wear.

Skating was fun. Well I should say it was very nerve wrecking at first. I was wobbly and I felt out of control. Plus the kids are so small and unpredictable. At a moments notice, they can switch directions, cut you off, or fall in front of you. I finally got into the swing of things and found my skater legs after a few go-rounds. Plus it was a great workout. I was working up quite a sweat! All in all, it was fun and I'm glad my friend Holley had a great birthday. Here are a few pics from the event. V and Melissa were also there. Can you pick them out in the group shot?

My Friday Uniform

I seem to like this outfit for Fridays. It's classic preppy and I can wake up, throw it on an go. Here is the preppy breakdown...

Tuxedo button up - Gap

Mossimo sweater vest - Target

Mossimo jeans - Target

Dominique Cohen ribbon/pearl necklace - Target

Isaac Mizrahi heels - Target

So it looks like I have a pretty busy weekend ahead. First up is the big garage sale and I am trying to get rid of a lot of stuff. We invited a few friends to add on to the sale so hopefully we get a big turnout. All I know is that if I don't sell my stuff, it is not coming back home with me. We scheduled a charity truck to come haul everything that's left after our garage sale. Hopefully I'll have a little chunk of change to hit those Thanksgiving/Christmas sales.

On Sunday we are celebrating my friend's 35th birthday at the roller rink. I haven't been roller skating in ages! Maybe I should get one of those butt enhancer undergarments just in case I need a little more cushion for the fall. This should be interesting... I was thinking about wearing a semi 80's outfit...hot pink and black polka dotted top that falls off one shoulder, black rubber bracelets, and a scarf tied as a headband. What do you think? Too much??? Of course I'll post pics later.

I hope everyone has a Fab Friday!

Thursday's Butterfly Knot

I was looking for new ways to tie my scarf and I remembered a blog posting from Cute and the Cheap who directed me to Sal's Already Pretty site. Sal has some great how-to's for tying a few cool knots. Thanks for the tutorials! I love how this turned out! Here is the lovely butterfly knot and the rest of the details...

Merona top - Target
Grey scarf - gifted
Nine West skinny Belt - Macy's
Tweed trumpet skirt - Gap
Maripe black peeps - Rack Room

So I am also trying out Flickr. I know a lot of people here use flickr to upload their photos to there blog. I just grabbed my photos off files and uploaded that way. However, they started firewalling blog photos at work. I can read the blogs, but I can't see what lovely outfits you have on except a few people, like Kimberly. I moused over the few photos I can see and saw that they were all via Flickr. Soooo, I'm experimenting and hopefully I can see my photo when I get in the office.
The firewall at work is so weird. Sometimes it blocks all blog pages completely. V, helped me out and showed me how to view them on Google Reader though. Sometime I can comment, most times I can't. This is why you may see a comment from me late into the night. Almost all pics are blocked. Maybe this just means I should get back to work... Nahhhh!
Wow, look at all the stuff I learned through blogging... Thank you ladies for helping me out!

Maroon Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! It's raining cats and dogs this week so no scooter rides this week. This means I get to wear skirts and dresses all week. Yay! Here is an oldie, but goodie skirt I've had for years (about 8 years or so). I think it's held up so well. Here is the breakdown...

Black button-up - NY & Co (gifted)
Wide belt - Dots
Maroon pencil skirt - Old Navy
More textured tights - Target
Isaac Mizrahi shoes - Target
Raspberry necklace - Pei-San

Jewel Tone Tuesday

Back to work. Here are my neutrals with a pop of jewel tone color...

Swiss Dotted button up - The Gap
Mossimo sweater vest - Target
Mossimo pencil skirt - Target
Dollhouse peep-toe heels - Ross
Purple suede belt - Target
Jewel-tone necklace - Target (can you tell I love Target?)

First I'd like to say that I am so happy I have pics up on the walls now. Will and I have now been living together for one full month and I still have more to do to the new place. The decorating and settling seems to take forever especially if you have 2 different styles merging into one. Our guest bedroom looks like a storage closet. We finally went through most of it this past weekend and organized it into 3 piles (keep, throw away, and garage sale). We still have a few boxes that don't have a home and I still have a few pictures that need hanging, but I am confident we'll get it done soon. We have some of Will's family staying with us for Thanksgiving so we have to get it done! Garage sale is next week though. Hopefully I can make a little moo-lah and clear out a lot of stuff. We decided that whatever doesn't sell, we'll donate to charity.

So not only is merging styles tough, merging diets is tough too. I really feel like I have been slacking on my diet. I use to be so good at planning my healthy meals. I'd cook almost every night and have enough for lunch the next day. Now my grocery shopping days are off. I can't seem to but the right amount and then I have to go back to the store to reshop. I feel like I never make enough food and my healthy meals get a little boring for him. He loves his chips, ramen noodles, dessert, and Tang (yeah, remember that stuff?). For the most part I stayed away from it at first, but now that it's in the house all the time, I struggle with the temptation. The funny thing is, I don't even care for chips. I just get stuck on that salty/sweet roller coaster and don't know how to get off. I need help! I know we've been though some stress with just trying to organize things and trying to find a routine for us. I really hope we finally get back on track and I start eating better again. At least I still manage to make it to the gym 3-4 days a week. I'd be in real trouble if I didn't.

I know I haven't been the easiest person when it comes to schedules. Will is very organized. He likes his "to do" list, organizers, spreadsheets, and 8 hours of sleep. I like to go, go, go... plan as I go, and I only need 5-6 hours of sleep. I know my night owl ways and my social calendar are killing him. I'm really trying to limit the events we go to, but with family and close friends near by, we just get pulled in so many directions.

So how long is it gonna take for us to get into a groove? Does anyone have any advice for the newly wed?

New Do Monday

No outfit post today. It was pretty boring anyways since I didn't go to work today. I took today off for doctor appointments, errands, and a haircut. I was so overdo for a haircut. I know it's time to cut my hair when all I want to do it pin it back. So here is my hair freshly cut.

Sloppy Scarf Friday

Today was a pretty relaxed look for me for work. Since it was jeans day and Will wanted to take the scooter, I threw on the basic jeans and brown top. It was a little dull so I thought I'd jazz it up with a sloppy scarf. Here are the details...

Merona cap sleeve brown top - Target
Mossimo jeans - Target
Sloppy scarf - From a trip to Italy
Snake skin shoes - Rack Room

Have a wonderful weekend!

Making Up For 2 Days

So I am making up for Wednesday's outfit pic. I wasn't feeling all that great on Wednesday so I almost did a headless shot, but then I realized I like my head and I felt bad chopping it off. So here you have it...hair pulled back, fake smile, and whatever is left of my little make-up, but it's me. Even though I felt yuck, I was determined to pull together another outfit for the Cute On The Cheap's Election Blogger Challenge. Here are my red, white, and blue details...

Navy Cardi - Old Navy
White wrap tank - Old Navy
Red Necklace - Lane Bryant
Grey Sailor Pants - Steve & Barry
Red peep-toes - JCP

Now let's talk about Thursday's outfit... I forgot to snap my pic, didn't have my camera with me at work, plus I was running straight to the gym afterwards. I thought my cute outfit wouldn't make the blog. Thank goodness for my trainer! She was so kind enough to snap a pic of me with her phone before I changed into my gym clothes. Here are the details...

Black Wrap Dress - TJMaxx
Purple suede belt - Target
Textured tights - Target
Isaac Mizrahi black patent pumps - Target (of course)

I know you can't really tell, but the tights have a cool design and I am so digging textured tights right now. I grabbed these at Target a year ago when they went on clearance. I also bought some fishnet tights. So here's my question... Can I wear the fishnets to work? The netting on them is pretty small so you might have to do a double look to see that they are fishnets. Or is it too taboo? I kind of want to wear them, but worried that it's inappropriate for the office. My office is suppose to be corporate casual, but these days people look more casual then corporate (which really bothers me). I am probably one of the few who dress up for work of jeans day. Soooo I think the fishnets done tastefully still look better than the sloppy t's and jeans. Right? Thoughts???

Oh I also have one more question for you guys. There is a Shecky's Girl's Night Out coming to Houston. It's suppose to be this big shopping party with great deals, designer clothes, beauty products, free cocktails, and a big goodie bag full of stuff. The tickets are free or 2 for $25 if you want a goodie bag. V and I are thinking about going. Has anyone ever been to one of these? Are the goodie bags really that great? And can you really find a good deal? Let us know if you've been and what you thought.

I guess I had a lot of questions for y'all. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and have a happy Friday! TGIF!!!

Inspired By An Election

Today's lovely outfit was inspired by Michelle Obama. Here's my look...

Ruffled wrap top - Charlotte Russe
White tank - The Gap
Grey pencil skirt - Old Navy Outlet
Hype lace shoes - DSW
Grandmother pearl studs - passed down from my grandmother
Strand of pearls - wedding gift from my aunt
The lovely and patriotic ladies at Cute On The Cheap have set up a new blogger challenge, so of course I had to participate. My look is for corporate casual America, but I took a few polished looks from Michelle to inspire my outfit today. I love the wrap top and mine just has a hint of ruffle on the neckline. The simple strand of pearls and studs, with a burst of color.

Wow, am I glad I stuck with my guns and waited to vote on election day. I walked right up and didn't wait at all. The only bad thing was I didn't get one of those ultra cool "I voted" stickers the Fab Kimberly is sporting and has challenged us to show off. I guess my voting receipt will have to do. Oh and Sassy KT this pic is also for you... As soon as I voted, I went and got myself a free cup of joe courtesy of Starbuck's.

Tonight we are getting together for an election watch at my friend, Michelle's place. Maybe I'll have another outfit for the challenge. Happy election night everyone!

A Quickie Lunch Posting

We ran home for lunch and while Will is cleaning up the dishes, I thought I'd do a quick post. Here is the breakdown...

Mossimo short sleeve jacket - Target
Grey halter cap-sleeved top - Express
Bitten Boyfriend jeans - Steve and Barry's
Issac Mizrahi black patent pumps - Target (on sale now)
work badge

I just got these shoes on sale at Target for $16.99! Love them except for the fact that they squeak a little right now when I walk in them. Does anyone else have this problem? Not loud enough squeak for everyone to notice, but enough for you to notice. I just try to walk fast to and from my desk... Hopefully it's just because they are new and not broken in yet.

Thank you for dooing the dishes Will, I love you!

Hope everyone is haveing a great Monday! Back to work for me!
